Our parishioners are encouraged to get involved in the Church community through committee and volunteer work. Our Fellowship committee plans many events for our parishioners to come together to socialize and celebrate our community.Â

Session
Oversees general management of the church thru correspondence committees
Maintains Church Membership roles and Session Minutes
Deacons
Visitations to those who are homebound, in nursing homes, or under special care
Serve those affected by major transitions in their lives
Prepare sanctuary for Sunday worship services
Maintain contact with those who are not in the area
Provide receptions for funerals or memorial services
Receive and communicate prayer requests
Welcome and mentor new members
Christian Education
Organization of the Sunday school programs
Develop and organize an adult education program\
Develop and coordinate youth programs and activities
Arrange Confirmation classes
Mission
Select mission projects annually
Plan and implement a year-round program of giving and volunteering
Manage special offerings
Designate our portion of the Peace and Global Offering to a mission project
Support Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantry
Finance
Oversee the financials of the church including but not limited to: budget, investments, endowments, and accounts
Maintain financial policies
Maintain insurance coverage
Review facility usage contracts
stewardship
Develop and maintain annual stewardship campaign
Property
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the buildings and grounds
Provide improvements to the property as needed
Evaluate building use contracts annually
Liaison with outside contractors
Coordinate Congregational Work Days
Maintain master list of church keys
Music & Worship
Assists/supports the minister and staff in providing worship experiences
Manages supportive worship activities ie. liturgists, communion schedule, and coffee hour
Provides logistical support as needed for baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc
Arranges pulpit supply as needed when pastor is away, if needed
Provides liturgical materials (ie palms, lilies, etc) as needed
Oversees physical space of worship
Reviews wedding and funeral policies
Memorial Gifts
Communicate how gifts are dispersed
Process gifts upon receipt
Acknowledgment of gifts
Disperse finds as directed
Nominating
Develop a slate of Deacons, Elders, and Nominating Committee members
Communication & Technology
Internal and external PR
Implement live streaming of service
Coordinate the monthly newsletter
Maintain the website, digital, and social media
Personnel
Work with minister on staffing plan
Provide job descriptions
Ensure compliance with FPC Handbook, Child and Youth Protection Policy and the Sexual Misconduct Policy
Provide employee with annual job review
Recommend annual salaries, merit increases and benefits for employees
